Rose basketball was back in action traveling to Conley Monday night after being off since their tournament championship on December 28. Both teams traded baskets in the first quarter with Conley taking a three point lead into the second frame. Rose battled back and took a two point lead into half behind some key shots from Alkevion Waller and Tanner Fields. Conley came out hot after half, taking a lead that would eventually get to 15 before Rose turned up the defensive pressure and created some baskets off turnovers. With the game tied with under a minute left in regulation, Kevin Hamilton hit a pair of clutch free throws to seal the game. Rose, now 10-0 overall, moves to 2-0 in the ECC 3A/4A. Leading scorers for Rose were Jamarion Griffin (14), Kevin Hamilton (12) and Aaron Murphy (11). Rose is back at home Wednesday night when they look to move to 3-0 in conference hosting C.B. Aycock.
